About LWS Exhibitions

LWS hosts a juried international exhibition and at least two member exhibits each year. Artists may submit up to three paintings per exhibit.

The prestigious LWS Annual International Exhibition began in 1969 and attracts artists worldwide. A master watercolor artist serves as juror, judge, and workshop instructor. Although local in-person exhibits are preferred, the Board occasionally hosts online exhibits to accommodate more international and out-of-state artists. Awards include ribbons, as well as cash and merchandise prizes. Winners are featured in the LWS annual catalog and on the LWS website. LWS members receive discounted international exhibition entry fees and workshop fees.

LWS Member Exhibits are typically non-juried. Only if the number of submissions exceeds the venue space will a LWS Board committee limit the number of paintings. Member exhibits are typically in-person, but online exhibits may be announced at the LWS Board’s discretion. Judges are selected from the active LWS members who have earned signature status. Awards include ribbons and cash prizes. Winners are featured on the LWS website.
