Tracy Hebert was born and raised in Port Allen, Louisiana. Taking art classes at a young age paved the way for her art journey many years later. After raising a family and running a small embroidery and screen-printing business for 20 years, she decided once again to pick up a paintbrush. Watercolor was one of her favorite mediums in high school. She was convinced to enter her work in a local tri-parish art show by a persistent sister-in-law in the fall of 2018. After winning Best of Show, she decided in 2019 to enter several local and international watercolor exhibitions. Tracy is now a member of several watercolor societies and art venues. She is a signature member and president of the Louisiana Watercolor Society (LWS), Women in Watercolor (WIW) and Northwest Watercolor Society. She has exhibited and placed in several national and international exhibits. Her most recent awards were in the 2023 LWS International Exhibition, the 2023 Northwest Watercolor Society Member Exhibit, the 2023 Women in Watercolor Exhibit, and 1st place in the 2023 National River Road Show exhibit.

She teaches local classes and workshops. Currently, painting is a creative outlet that helps relieve the stress of daily life which includes caring for her elderly father who has Alzheimer’s.

At present, she paints in a realistic style of people “doing real life” things that tell a story. Water scenes and animals with their near human-like emotions are another of Tracy’s favorite subjects. She chooses her subjects by taking pictures of the things that inspire her, looking over those photos, and the one that makes her look again and again is the one she will sketch and possibly paint.
