Description
LWS is proud to offer a fluid acrylic workshop with Donna McGee LWS-M at the Art Guild of Louisiana in Baton Rouge. FLUID ACRYLICS (AKA LIQUID ACRYLICS)…flowing, saturated color that is water-based and lightfast. Donna uses fluid acrylics to create work that combines contrast of spontaneous loose painting with more controlled passages. Learn how to prepare the paper with different surfaces and apply color using two different techniques. Participants will work on two quarter-sheet paintings. Prepared sheets and fluid acrylics will be provided by Donna.
Donna McGee, LWS-M
Donna F. McGee received a Bachelor of Science in Art Education from Mississippi State University in 1974 and a Master of Fine Arts in Studio – Painting and Drawing from Louisiana Tech University in 1993. Donna has over 50 years of experience working in oil, watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media painting. She taught drawing, design, and painting at the university level for 27 years and has taught lessons and workshops in oil, watercolor, acrylic, and plein air for much of her adult life. Donna has participated in plein air painting competitions in various locations in Louisiana, Texas, Colorado, Arizona, and Montana. Her award-winning acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, and oil paintings have been shown in over 80 international, national, and regional juried exhibitions. She has shown her work in more than 18 solo exhibitions and numerous group shows. Her works are included in public and private collections throughout the United States. In 2026, her work was featured in Louisiana Life Magazine, January-February issue. Donna is a member of Outdoor Painter’s Society, Oil Painters of America, National Oil and Acrylic Painter’s Society, National Watercolor Society, Louisiana Watercolor Society (Master Signature), and Hoover Watercolor Society.
