Artist Walk & Talk: Friday, Dec. 2, 2022. 2:30 p.m. Join artists Laura Mitchell, Peggy Kirby, and Rita Congemi as they share their expertise on the qualities of great art. Walk with them through the LWS Juried Show at Christwood, admire the paintings, and learn whether there really are magic elements of great art. Read more.

Reception: Nov. 12, 2022, 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm in the Atrium Gallery, Christwood. Photos of the paintings will be shared on social media.
This juried exhibition of original waterbased media on paper is open to all members in good standing of the LWS. LWS is unable to accept out of state paintings this year.
Entry Fee: 1 to 3 submissions: $20.00. No refunds. Jpg images required for entry. The judge will select paintings for this juried show.

JUDGE: Tracy Hebert LWS is an award-winning signature member and president of the Louisiana Watercolor Society. She uses watercolor to tell stories based on subjects and scenes from everyday life.

Exhibit Rules
This juried exhibition of original waterbased media on paper is open to all members in good standing of the LWS. 2022 dues must be paid. Only new paintings (never shown in any LWS show) created in the past 3 years (after Sept. 2019) are accepted.
The Atrium Gallery has the following requirement for this show:

Minimum Frame size is 16″ x 20″ for this show only.
- Paintings must be framed under plexiglass, complete with screw-eyes and wire. Mats, when used, must all be white or off-white.
- Definition of Originality: From concept to execution, an ‘original’ painting is strictly the artist’s own composition. The use of photographs as reference materials is allowed only if that photograph was taken by the artist submitting the painting.(Permission to use a photograph from another photographer, amateur or professional, relative or friend, is not allowed. Artist may be asked to provide photograph as proof of composition.)
- Workshop paintings and works painted with the assistance of a teacher are not allowed. A copy of a workshop painting, for instance, repainting the same composition from the workshop on new paper is not allowed.

Digital Entries File Format: Only jpeg files accepted, using high quality camera setting or 300dpi. Images will be used for publicity.
Digital image must represent the painting exactly, showing no frame or mat and without extraneous background. Image must be correctly oriented (vertical or horizontal).
Label each entry— Jpeg file name should be as follows: Last Name, First Name, Title of Painting, Painting Size.(height x width without frame) Example: Picasso, Pablo-My Masterpiece, 20×16 in.Entry Fee: 1 to 3 submissions: $20.00. No refunds. Jpg images required for entry. The judge will select paintings for this juried show.
Delivery of paintings
Accepted artists will be notified via email by October 24. A list of accepted paintings will be posted on the LWS web site.
The show ends on January 5, 2023.
- Take down: Artists must collect their painting(s) on January 6 between 10 am and noon from the Christwood Atrium Gallery.
Paintings cannot be removed before the end of the show.
